Re: Booing former players
At the time of their departures I had a lot more dislike of Ince and Defoe than Lampard Jnr.

Over the years I have softened my attitude towards the first two as they've never slagged us off after that to my knowledge.

Whereas my dislike for fat boy has only increased over the years given his constant criticism of the club and fans as well as him just being a general arrogant #####.

He's up there with Dimitri Payet and Steve Bruce in my top ten footballers I can't stand and would happily boo.

No-one will boo Declan when he leaves because I have every faith he'll continue to give his all to the end and won't slag us off.

Re: Booing former players
Arnautovic loved the drama and was a tool for letting his brother talk about his future so openly in the media.

I would love to think that Arnie was a decent guy deep down and his brother was the one stirring (which is partly true) but if Arnie wasn't interested in the drama, why did he announce his decision to stay at West Ham with a teaser "major update on my future in the next 24hrs" on twitter/insta before then revealing that he was not going to China but instead staying with West Ham.

By that time, the damage had already been done, he had tarnished his reputation with the fans and no doubt upset the dressing room. And then of course he did eventually leave to go to China.

So fuck him. He didn't take the club and the fans seriously.

Perhaps it's just that Villa fans know better than any others what a diving cheat Grealish is...

Re: Booing former players
I imagine Arnautovic would get some stick if he ever played against us, seeing as he was booed before he even left. In one of his last games some Yank came and sat beside me and asked why it was happening. After I told him he started going apeshit at the bloke, swearing and booing whenever he got near the ball, which I found hilarious.

Emotive issue.

Only players I would personally boo any player that was taking a wage but have checked out until they get the deal they are after.

Payet would get it, if he ever played against us.

Declan definitely would not, he would give his all for the shirt right up until the last second.

Re: Booing former players
There are supporters who invest time and money into watching these players put in a shift or develop into players that are a joy to watch or even ones they feel down tools as soon as a big club sniffs around, so these will be the ones with a gripe for whatever reason. Then there are those that just switch off their internet stream and don’t get why those that get the hump would do this…..

Re: Booing former players
I well remember the stick that Craig Bellamy got when he returned with Man City. The word greedy seemed to feature in most chants aimed at him.

In fact Bellamy would have been happy to stay but the club basically had an offer that they could not refuse so off he went his transfer being softened by a better wage.

You're a lucky man Sydders if you have the thoughts and mental energy to care about something like this. My take on it is who gives a flying fuck..

Btw, did Grealish tell his mum about about those nasty Villa fans?

I know, but there's zero chance of them paying £100m for a player even if they sold kane. it's between the two manc clubs, chelsea & real madrid if he goes

For me lampard just pips Ince in the cunt stakes. Mainly because he wouldn't shut the fuck up.

Incorrect. They were clapped. We have respect for former players, unless they give us

West ham fans ain't the only ones that have booed former players on their return. Contrary to what some in the media love to pretend .
